Personality:
My name is Vanya Hargreeves, and this is my story.

We were never a real family. We were our father's creation, family in name but not in fact.

In the end, after our brother Ben had died, there was really nothing connecting us. We were strangers living in the same house, destined to be alone, starved for attention, damaged by our upbringing, and haunted by what might have been.

We all wanted to be loved by a man incapable of giving love. My father never missed an opportunity to remind me that I was ordinary. A hard thing for a little girl to hear.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
• Sound Absorption: Vanya absorbs sound which she then amplifies and uses to fuel her powers. This can be any sound she hears or sound-produced vibration she feels, from a jet engine to her own heartbeat.
• Sound Manipulation: Once her power is "charged" using the above method, she can manipulate its release in a variety of ways. In some cases, she can do so to devastating effects.
      • Sound Wave Projection: Once absorbing sound, Vanya can release it in blasts with herself at the epicenter. Such shock waves vary in strength from knocking people backwards to causing localized earthquakes.
      • Cataclysmic Telekinesis: Vanya can move objects by manipulating sound waves. This can occur with precision (such as levitating a person and impaling them with/onto sharp objects) or with power (the destruction of the Umbrella Academy building) or both (blowing a hole in the fucking moon). From bending lampposts to causing explosions, there is no known limit to the possible applications of this power.
      • Mood Manipulation: There is some evidence that Vanya's music can be used to draw out certain moods or influence behaviors in others. This is largely untested, but she used it (unknowingly) to influence her selection as soloist and first chair violin for what would be the "apocalypse suite".
• Enhanced Hearing: Due to her control of sound waves, Vanya is able to hear things which would usually be impossible for the average human hearing through concentration. (For example, she was able to hear the chimes from the cabin while being some distance away.) Vanya is also able to focus on a specific sound and block out the others, no matter how loud they are.
• Atmokinesis: Vanya is able to manipulate the weather to a certain extent and is able to make it rain when she is sad or angry. She seems to be able to manipulate wind as well and sounds of thunder can be heard some times while she uses this power, hinting at lightning.
◘ All of Vanya's powers will be accessible but extremely weakened. (One is being eliminated entirely.) However, her powers are also dangerously unstable and are prone to occasional bursts of strength only in the least opportune moments.
◘ Vanya has never been trained to control/use her powers even under "normal" (ie. canon) circumstances. This makes her extremely unpredictable, especially when she gets scared or emotional. Strong negative emotions can cause her powers to accidentally trigger. Getting upset can also cause her attacks to land with more strength than intended.
◘ Medication can be used to dampen or block Vanya's powers.
◘ Vanya is claustrophobic, cleithrophobic, and she fears silence.
